UoG - Information Technology Department (ITD)

Description:

The Information Technology Department is one of the pillars of the University College of Goizha. The IT was founded in the academic year 2018/2019 due to the university’s keenness to meet the accelerating needs of the community in various fields and for the development and management of programs necessary to meet the needs of users. IT is vital and important nowadays as it provides the community with expertise in computer science that are able to take their responsibilities in various areas of the computer field.

The IT believes that the student is the most important pillar in the university, so it is always trying to take care of the aimed ideas; also it contributes to the refinement of all the professional skills needed to provide employment opportunities for students, whether locally or regionally.

Department Vision:

The vision of ITD is to build the student’s personality from several aspects in an integrated manner to be a distinct graduate of this department at all levels and has a scientific and professional ability which qualifies him for success in his career as Expert in computer science to serve the country.

Department Mission:

The mission of ITD can be summarized as Preparing students for professional practice and graduate study through a program that provides a strong fundamental technical and high quality undergraduate education.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  2. Communicate the major concepts in the functional areas of accounting, marketing, finance, information technology, and management.
  3. Describe the legal, social, ethical, and economic environments of business in a global context.
  4. Solve organization problems, individually and/or in teams, using quantitative, qualitative, and technology-enhanced approaches.
  5. Demonstrate professional communication and behavior.
  6. Apply knowledge of business concepts and functions in an integrated manner.

Study Methods:

The ITD following the year-study system. The method of study depends on lectures, practical sessions and reports, the assessment is achieved via two mid-term exams, final exams, essays and reports.

Language:

The language of education at the ITD is the English and Kurdish language for all courses

Duration:

The duration of study at the ITD is 4 Academic years full-time study.
